Vic Mizzy 1916-2009
Composer Vic Mizzy passed away last week. He was responsible for a number of popular tunes in the 30's & 40's, but will most likely be remembered for writing two tv theme songs in the 60's - "Green Acres" and "The Addams Family." Regarding the latter, "Mizzy played the harpsichord and sang the vocal parts (overdubbing his own voice three times) and coached the actors during the main-title sequence (including on-camera finger-snapping by the actors)," according to a recent article in Variety.
