Movie Review - Transformers 2
When I arrived at the theater to see Transformers 2: Rise of the Fallen, I saw an ambulance leaving the scene. Never a good sign! I'm pleased to report that the movie did not make me sick, but I do think there should be a warning attached. The more I think about it, the more my head hurts. So, I'm going to keep this review short - Transformers 2 is NOT a good movie. In fact I liked it even less than the first one. However, since there has already been enough bad mojo going around this week, here's two good reasons to justify these movies:
On another positive note, it looks like Michael Bay will not be directing a third Transformers movie. There is hope for the franchise! That is, unless TPTB decide to replace him with Brett Ratner or Marty Martin.

Sunday Funnies
Recently discovered from the archives, a colossal battle between two cultural icons! Produced sometime in the early 80's, I felt it was my duty to detail the conflict that no other would dare. With apologies to Jim Davis, Ernő Rubik, and fans of correct spelling everywhere, I give you...

Worth the Wait
It is difficult to believe it has been more than a year since BDS has been in Atlanta, but it a very welcome return indeed! New faces in the band. New album. New covers added to the set list. But the end result? Davy Knowles & Back Door Slam still rock! The band appeared on stage at the Virginia Highland Summerfest (sponsored by 92.9 Dave FM) and I poorly misjudged how long it would take to get to the venue, so we were a little late to the show. We did see about an hour of rock and blues goodness well worth any hassle we had getting there.
The band played some tracks off the new album, Coming Up for Air and added a few covers to the set list (by CCR and Rory Gallagher). The new songs rock and the "oldies" sound fresh. Wish I could make it to Chattanooga tomorrow. As I mentioned to Davy after the show, I hope we don't have to wait another year for next BDS Hotlanta gig!
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again, check out the schedule and don't miss this band if they are appearing anywhere near you!
